Bailey Pluckhorn

Bailey is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to Carolina Alliance. She brings 3 seasons of coaching 14-16U and 6 seasons of playing in various volleyball clubs in the triangle area.

Bailey attended college at the University of Nebraska and graduated with a degree in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science. Even though there was a minimal volleyball career throughout college, Bailey worked more on strength and conditioning as well as agility and injury prevention side of the sport and hopes to provide knowledge to the athletes who come through Alliance.

Bailey’s goal while coaching volleyball is to make sure the athletes are having fun while gaining knowledge, creating habits and being disciplined in the small things that make the bigger picture happen.

Christian Sullivan

Christian has been coaching club teams in the triangle area for the past four years. He specializes in coaching play at the net bringing his experience blocking and attacking to his athletes. Christian brings an enthusiastic and optimistic energy to everything that he does.

Christian started playing volleyball while attending NC State when his friends asked him to bring his awesome vertical to the volleyball court and away from basketball. He was a Middle/Right Side on the NC State club team and the de facto hype man. Christian still loves to travel for tournaments including the Bash, the Clash, Chaos, and Pisgah.

Christian earned a degree in Animal Science from NC State and worked as a Veterinary Technician for 3 years in Charlotte before moving back to Raleigh and being convinced to start coaching. He is passionate about the sport and loves to see players develop at a efficient pace!

Hannah Vestal

Hannah is thrilled to join Carolina Alliance. She coached volleyball for 5 years at Carolina Chaos Volleyball, before coming to Carolina Alliance. She has coached a variety of ages and skill levels, ranging from Regional to National level and ages 15-18.

Hannah is an NC State graduate with a BS in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management. She was a member of the NCSU Women’s Club Volleyball Team for 4 years where she played as an outside hitter. Her team had several top 5 finishes in the annual NCVF National Tournament. Hannah loves to compete in grass volleyball tournaments around the region as well as USAV Open Nationals annually.

Hannah’s favorite thing about coaching volleyball is seeing the growth and development of players both on and off the court & she loves helping players sustain a love for the game that can carry with them past their high school years into adulthood.

Grayson Walter

Grayson is so excited to start Carolina Alliance and to continue coaching volleyball in the Triangle Area. She has been the on-site director for Valor Volleyball Club the past two seasons with several teams from ages 15 – 18.

Grayson attended the University of Chicago and graduated with a Biology degree. She was recruited to play for the University of Chicago as an opposite hitter and was medically retired before her college career finished. She stayed engaged in the sport and began her coaching career soon after with the University of Chicago Laboratory School 6th grade team. She led the young team to victory in all of their games, and loved introducing the sport of volleyball to young athletes.

Grayson grew up in Chapel Hill and played 4 years of Varsity Volleyball in high school with 6 years of club volleyball on national level teams. She started playing volleyball when she was six years old after being introduced to it by her father, who was an avid grass player. She is particularly thrilled to give back to the same volleyball community that she grew up in. Grayson now lives in Raleigh with her boyfriend and chocolate lab, Molly, and continues to play adult volleyball in several different leagues in the RTP Area.

Grayson loves to educate, teach, and coach. She emphasizes volleyball IQ and playing a smart and strategic game. She is a big believer in staying positive at all times regardless of the situation or score and wants all her players to love and enjoy their entire volleyball experience.

Outside of volleyball, Grayson has worked for several years as a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant. Grayson is also a PADI SCUBA Diving Instructor, and taught in Costa Rica before the COVID-19 Pandemic shut the world down. For fun, Grayson likes to read, do jigsaw and sudoku puzzles, go to the beach or pool, play with her dog, and work on home renovations.

Trey Vestal

Trey has spent the last six years with Carolina Chaos Volleyball Club, including acting as the On-Site Director for the past two years, coaching age groups ranging from 16s-18s. He is excited and eager to start this new adventure and move forward with the next chapter of his coaching career.

His volleyball career began at NC State University where he played on the club team for 3 years culminating with a 5th place finish at NCVF Nationals in 2015. He continued to be involved with the club team for several years after graduating, serving as an unofficial coach and practice player.

Trey graduated from NC State with a degree in Computer Science and puts it to good use working his day job with General Dynamics Information Technology. He also met his future wife Coach Hannah while at NC State, and the two currently live in Garner with their two cats Nala and Zazu.

These days Trey gets most of his playing time through competing in adult grass tournaments throughout the southeast region. He serves as an Assistant Tournament Director for the Chaos grass tournament series in Raleigh and Charlotte. He looks for opportunities to play indoor volleyball wherever possible, whether it’s pickup with friends, local tournaments and leagues, or a yearly trip to USAV Open Nationals with Coach Christian.
